Winters throughout the Years

Growing up in Winters, California shaped so much of who I am. Today, I’m fortunate to own my grandparents’ home there and watch the town evolve while still holding onto the close-knit farming spirit I remember. Though Winters has grown from about 1,500 residents to more than 7,000, Main Street is still just two blocks long and community remains at its heart.

One of my family's greatest honors came when the Winters Express invited readers to nominate a name for a new elementary school. My mother (Shirley Rominger) received the most votes, and the school was named in her honor a year after she passed away. She served on the Winters Unified School District Board for 20 years, including 10 as president, and believed deeply that every child deserved a quality education.

The people, memories, and values that made Winters so special are woven throughout The Rangity Tango Kids. I invite you to experience them with me by ordering your copy at lorrainerominger.com.
