Dad and the Farm

My father, Donald, spent his entire life farming just north of Winters, and there was no place on earth he would rather be. As we rode through the fields on his ATV—always with a faithful dog or two by his side—he would look across the land and say, "Why would you want to go anywhere when you have land like this? Isn't it the most beautiful place you've ever seen?" We used to tease him that he had dirt in his veins instead of blood because farming wasn't just what he did—it was who he was. He loved his land, his family, his country, and God, and he was the greatest role model I could have asked for. I miss him every day, and his legacy lives on in The Rangity Tango Kids.
