The Spirit of Christmas

Merry Christmas from our house to yours! I guess you could say I’m too old to believe in Santa Claus, but I certainly believe in the spirit of Christmas. For me, Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ, our savior and king, who came into this world to teach us all to love one another. My mother died the day after Christmas fifteen years ago and I can’t believe that much time has passed since she’s been gone. We still decorate our Christmas tree exactly the same way she used to, with hand crocheted ornaments made by her mother. No one believed in Jesus, or loving one another, more than my Mom. I miss her all year long, but even more at Christmas.
